Modify the structure of an SQL database.

After its creation, a database will increase its data volume and applications, thus risking deterioration in performance level (due to a lack of disk space, poor distribution of disk drives...). Therefore it becomes necessary to modify the database design.

This modification can be partial (modification of tables, dbspace, pools, addition or deletion of columns...) or global. In this case, it is necessary to carry out a long and fastidious inventory.

In the case of a partial modification, SQL-MANAGER proposes an editor which will make the ON-LINE modifications easily and quickly. The MODIFY function of the SQL-MANAGER enables the modifications to be recorded in BATCH.

In the case of global reorganization of database, SQL-MANAGER puts at your disposal an interactive draw tool and an ON LINE editor.
It is possible to manage the location of the disks and tables using the draw tool.
Using the ON-LINE editor, it is possible to prepare the dbspaces and tables for BATCH processing which re-design the base.
