Managing the server
Managing the DB2 server is not an easy task. Only the SHOW
commands indicate the real status of the server ( SQL-ACTIVITY and Database configuration).
Incidents like DBSPACE FULL, STORPOOL FULL, LOG FULL... ...) may be avoided if proper
monitoring of the base is carried out.
SQL-ADMIN displays a synthetic screen of the percentage occupancy for each sensitive parameter of the server.
A major problem of relational data administrators is the control of LOCK situations.
SQL-ADMIN, thanks to the display of contention
LOCK, identifies quickly users waiting to access resources, users blocking
the resources and the resources concerned.
